We are best friends and business partners. We both come from an IT background and have been running an IT services company successfully for the last four years. We are always travel enthusiasts and enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring new places. We have always chosen offbeat destinations over popular ones because of the hectic nature of today’s life in the private sector; everyone needs some fresh air. We have been working together for the last ten years and have traveled together and with our families.

One thing we always liked on our trips was finding accommodation away from the crowd and the city. We always observed things during our stays, such as the location, services, and food, and thought about how we could improve them if we were the hosts. This is how we started thinking about our own hospitality or accommodation services. Our main focus was on offbeat places, so we began searching for the best locations away from city hustle. We had heard a lot about Narkanda (60 km from Shimla) and planned to visit in 2023. We really liked the peaceful atmosphere, less crowd, beautiful locations, and surrounding valleys. We wanted a location away from the city and found it after a few visits. We then started looking for a brand name, and Aman came up with the name Boonies, which means an area that is not close to any towns or cities, or you could say in the jungle. That is how Boonies was born, and we began planning to build the best luxury stay in this peaceful location.

Starting with one location, our vision is to explore more places and offer more accommodation options where visitors can spend quality time with their partners, families, and friends. Our main goal is to provide the best services, food, and locations with a luxury lifestyle at affordable prices. We are also planning the best packages for occasions like honeymoons, anniversaries, and others. This idea came to us when I learned about a very bad experience one of my close friends had on her honeymoon. They had a five-day honeymoon package to Shimla and Manali but spent half of their time in traffic jams. When any married couple looks for honeymoon options, most of the choices they get are Shimla, Manali, Nainital, Kashmir, Mussoorie, etc. (North Zone of India). We know how popular these destinations are, but what about the crowd and traffic there? I see how people get stuck in traffic jams for 5-6 hours, with a lot of crowds around. Is this type of honeymoon worth it? Everyone wants to spend quality time with their partner in private, but how can they if they are just traveling, stuck in traffic, and tired for all the days of a five-day package? So, our vision is to come up with the best luxury honeymoon package where couples can enjoy their trip and spend quality time together in luxury, with privacy as our priority.

We have traveled to almost all the hill stations around Shimla and Chandigarh and really like places like Kasauli, Chail, Shimla, and Kufri. All of them are amazing and worth exploring. But what we like about Narkanda is that it is more offbeat than all these, with very little traffic and fewer crowds. It has heavier snowfall in winter than Shimla, is cooler in summer, and has the best locations around, such as Hatu Peak, one of the highest peaks in the region, standing at an elevation of 3,400 meters (11,152 ft) above sea level. From there, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the majestic Himalayan ranges, including some famous peaks like Nanda Devi, Shrikhand Mahadev, and Rupin Pass.

Another great place nearby is Tanni Jubbar Lake, a perfect location for a family picnic. It is a very peaceful place for nature lovers, surrounded by deodar trees.
